This is one of the best spots in norwalk.

El Marquez, one of Norwalk's most traditional and delicious Mexican restaurants. With its most delicious molcajetes, enchiladas, tacos, and burritos—or rather, your favorite dishes—served with delicious rice and beans and a michelada or your favorite drink. Their shrimp cocktail and any other seafood are also incredibly tasty. And what can I say about the menudo? The most delicious menudo around! You won't even want to leave the restaurant. The service here is provided by the most beautiful ladies, and Alfredo, the chef, is truly one of the best.

El Marquez through the Norwalk year

El Marquez Restaurant is a Mexican restaurant in Norwalk. The town averages 16.0 inches of precipitation and 0.1 inches of snow a year, per NOAA normals for 1991-2020. The median home there was built in 1957, per the American Community Survey for 2024.

The kitchen sticks to traditional Mexican plates, and the restaurant says its tortillas are made in house. Its website says it has been cooking here since 1996. It names tacos, fajitas and house specialties among the favorites.

For a family celebration at any point in the year, the site describes a banquet room and catering for special events. It asks parties of 8 or more to get in touch directly.

Planning around El Marquez's week

The doors open Tuesday through Sunday, from 10 AM on weekdays and 8:30 AM on Saturday and Sunday, until 6 PM, with Monday closed. Tuesday is the cheap day, since the website lists $2 tacos all day. From Tuesday to Friday, a $13.99 lunch special runs from 11 AM to 3 PM.

The website recommends booking ahead, especially on weekends. The earlier weekend opening makes Saturday or Sunday a good pick for a morning meal.

It holds a 4.2 rating from 1,033 reviews. Reviewers mention warm, attentive servers, the menudo and big tacos most, though one takeout order came back plainer than expected for the price.

Your best time to call is a Tuesday or Wednesday morning soon after 10 AM, before the lunch special starts at 11.
